Course Overview

In an era where cyberattacks are growing in sophistication, frequency, and impact, organisations across every sector require skilled professionals who can go beyond reactive defence and proactively understand, anticipate, and neutralise threats. The PECB Certified Cyber Threat Analyst certification equips participants with a rigorous, structured methodology for gathering, processing, analysing, and communicating cyber threat intelligence (CTI). Recognised internationally and aligned with industry-leading frameworks, this certification validates your ability to operate an effective threat intelligence programme that directly informs security decision-making at tactical, operational, and strategic levels.

What You Will Learn

Participants will gain a deep understanding of the cyber threat landscape, including threat actor profiling, attack lifecycle models (such as the MITRE ATT&CK framework and the Cyber Kill Chain), and the intelligence cycle. The course covers the collection and analysis of open-source intelligence (OSINT), technical indicators of compromise (IoCs), and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Participants will also learn how to produce structured intelligence reports and disseminate actionable findings to stakeholders, enabling faster and more informed incident response and risk management decisions.

Educational Approach

This instructor-led training combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises, real-world case studies, and scenario-based analysis to ensure participants can immediately apply their knowledge in operational environments. Group discussions, hands-on threat-intelligence workshops, and end-of-section quizzes reinforce learning at each stage. Participants receive official PECB courseware, and the examination and certification fees are included in the training price. An attestation of course completion with CPD credits is awarded to all participants, and a free exam retake is provided within 12 months should it be needed.

Exam and Certification Process

The PECB Certified Cyber Threat Analyst examination is administered on the final day of training and assesses candidates on all domains covered throughout the course. Upon successfully passing the exam and meeting PECB's professional experience requirements, candidates are awarded the PECB Certified Cyber Threat Analyst credential, which is verifiable through PECB's official online directory. The certification demonstrates to employers, clients, and regulators that the holder possesses the knowledge and practical skills to lead and contribute to a mature, intelligence-driven cybersecurity programme.
